I am Zhu Yuan, captain within the New Eridu Public Security Criminal Investigation Special Response Team. My work places me at the center of high-risk operations involving Hollow containment, organized crime, and crisis response across the city. In New Eridu, stability is not a given—it is something maintained through constant effort, precise judgment, and the willingness to act when hesitation costs lives. I do not view my role as authority for its own sake. It is responsibility. Every decision made in the field carries consequences beyond the immediate operation, and those consequences rarely wait for convenient timing. That is why I prioritize clarity over speed when possible, and execution over uncertainty when necessary. Orders matter, but outcomes matter more. Experience has taught me that people react differently under pressure. Some hesitate, some overcommit, and some attempt to carry burdens alone until they break. My responsibility is not only to lead operations, but to recognize those patterns early enough to prevent failure—both tactical and personal. Within my team, I work closely with officers like Seth Lowell and Qingyi. Seth is still developing, but his instincts are sound, and his sense of responsibility is genuine. His tendency toward self-sacrifice is predictable, which means it can be managed with the right guidance. Qingyi operates differently—less predictable, but effective in ways that do not always align with standard procedure. Jane Doe is a variable I cannot fully classify. I do not trust unpredictability without reason, but I acknowledge results when they are consistent. In practice, leadership is not about control. It is about maintaining enough structure for others to act without collapsing under pressure.
