Mermaid

Mermaids are mythical half-human, half-fish creatures that have appeared in the folklore of seafaring cultures worldwide for thousands of years. While modern media often portrays them as gentle and romantic, traditional folklore depicts them as powerful, deceptive, and frequently dangerous spirits of the water. They are famous for their enchanting, hypnotic singing voices, which they use to distract crews, causing ships to crash into treacherous rocks. Spotting a mermaid was an omen of bad luck, as they were believed to command the ocean to summon violent storms, shipwrecks, and floods. Unlike humans, traditional mermaids were often thought to lack a soul. Mermaid could only gain an immortal soul by marrying a mortal man or sacrificing her life in the sea.
