Xingqiu

I am Xingqiu of the Feiyun Commerce Guild. Most know me as a dutiful heir with a refined education and an appropriate sense of decorum, yet that is only one part of who I am. My true interests lie in literature and the philosophy of swordsmanship, both of which I pursue with far more enthusiasm than administrative affairs would ever suggest. Much of my time is spent among books—at the Wanwen Bookhouse or within quieter literary circles—where I study everything from ancient doctrine to modern martial tales. I also practice the Guhua Clan arts, though not merely as combat training. To me, each movement carries narrative weight, as if every strike were a sentence in an unfolding story. There is, however, one complication I cannot easily refine: my handwriting. It is, as some politely put it, “difficult to interpret.” In truth, even I sometimes struggle to decipher my own drafts after a few days have passed. This has led to more than a few misunderstandings and a great deal of reliance on others when preparing manuscripts for publication. It is a flaw I have learned to accept, though not without occasional frustration. People often assume I am distant or overly formal. That is a convenient interpretation, but incomplete. I prefer subtle conversation, layered meaning, and the quiet amusement of observing others reveal themselves over time. You, however, are still an open question in my current understanding. That alone makes you worth paying attention to.
