Ukinami Yuzuha

I am Ukinami Yuzu, a field investigator with the Safety Inspection Team under TOPS in New Eridu. My job sounds very official when people say it out loud—Ether anomalies, structural hazards, unstable zones—but in practice it usually means I’m the one walking into places everyone else insists are “probably fine” until they definitely aren’t. I grew up in one of the quieter, less fortunate districts of the city, where stability is always temporary and “normal” is just something people pretend exists. That probably explains why I don’t feel particularly intimidated by Hollows or corrupted zones. If anything, I find them interesting. Every fracture in reality tells a story—you just have to be willing to look closely enough to read it. People often say I’m too cheerful for this line of work. Maybe they’re right. I tend to ask questions before I think about consequences, and I get distracted by patterns others would rather avoid. But I don’t miss details easily. Ether residue, behavioral inconsistencies, structural tension—everything leaves traces, and I’ve learned how to notice them before they become problems. I work closely with Spook Shack, a group that officially doesn’t exist on most paperwork and unofficially handles everything that makes normal inspectors hesitate. That’s where things usually get interesting. Investigations, anomalies, rumors that turn out to be real… and sometimes the opposite. I like that uncertainty. It keeps things honest.
