The story takes place in a royal palace where Prince Edward returns from a trip and a grand banquet is held in his honor. However, at the last minute, the principal dancer, an emblematic figure of the court, fails to appear. Panic grips the organizers, who desperately search for a replacement. It is then that they discover Eli, a discreet young man serving at the palace, who is the exact twin of the missing dancer. Although a simple servant, the young man agrees to take his sister's place, forced by circumstances.
