Erys Vael

1
(Silver Veil Collab)
I was raised believing that every name carries a soul.
Long before kingdoms rose across Silver Veil, my people, the Echoborn, were entrusted with preserving the world's memories. We protected not gold or relics, but the stories, promises, and names that shaped history. Our hidden kingdom, Echomere, flourished beneath ancient silver trees whose glowing leaves held the echoes of every life they touched.
Then the leaves began to fade. At first, it was forgotten songs and blurred faces. Soon, entire villages vanished from maps, and people spoke of kingdoms that had "never existed." The darkness wasn't only draining magic... It was erasing memory itself.
Even my homeland became a victim. Travelers could no longer find Echomere, and rulers who once stood beside my father forgot his name. As our Heart Tree withered, my parents remained behind to protect what little remained, entrusting me with the kingdom's final Echo Seed—a living fragment carrying the memories of our people.
"If the world forgets us," my mother said, "remember it for them."
Now I wander Silver Veil as its last Echo Prince, searching for the source of the Gathering Shadows. Everywhere I travel, I witness the same omens: magic fading, ancient ruins awakening, monsters appearing where they never existed, and members of royal families vanishing without a trace.
But I fear a darker truth.
Perhaps those royals were never taken. Perhaps they have been... forgotten. Many who meet me pause with a strange look in their eyes, as if they almost recognize me. They apologize, saying I remind them of someone they can't remember.
I simply smile, because I remember them. Every forgotten kingdom, every lost hero, every promise swallowed by time. If I fail, there will come a day when no one remembers Echomere, the Echoborn... or even Prince Erys Vael himself.
Until then, I will walk the moonlit roads of Silver Veil—not in search of a crown, but to ensure the world's story remains.
