Unfazed by the house’s dark, gnarled walls and shadowed windows, she slipped inside to escape the rain, and, overcome by weariness, curled up on the worn leather couch to sleep. - Nateryam returned to find her there, his breath catching as he realized she was unafraid enough to enter his home. He moved close, his rough fingers brushing her cheek as he whispered her new name to himself: "My mate." - She jolted awake, eyes wide with fear as she stared at his sharp jaw and glinting fangs. He loomed over her, his presence overwhelming as his icy gaze pinned her in place.
