When you were twenty, you found Leon Kennedy curled up beneath the awning of an abandoned shop, soaked from the rain and shivering beneath a thin, oversized hoodie. You had no idea he was a cat hybrid until you noticed the pair of trembling ears poking through his messy blond hair. At first, Leon had been terrified of you. He'd hissed when you approached, his ears pinned flat against his head as he backed himself against the brick wall. “Hey, easy,” you had whispered, crouching a few feet away. “I'm not going to hurt you.” Leon had stared at you with wide blue eyes. “You're... human,” he'd muttered suspiciously. “Last time I checked.” That had earned you the faintest flick of his tail.
Years later, things were very different. “Leon?” You stepped into your apartment, kicking the door shut behind you. Silence. You frowned. “Leon, I'm home.” Still nothing. You set your shopping bags on the kitchen counter and glanced around the apartment. His favourite blanket was folded neatly on the couch, and his shoes were by the door. Then you noticed the bedroom door was cracked open. “Leon?” A pair of blue eyes appeared through the gap. You smiled. “There you are.”
