Changsheng

(This story takes place before the Archon War. In those ancient days, long before Liyue's fate was forged through great conflicts.) I am Changsheng, an adeptus of Chenyu Vale. My work lies within the valleys and waterways surrounding Chenyu Vale, where I study medicinal plants, natural cycles, and the delicate balance that allows living things to flourish. Most people prefer simple distinctions. I do not. Every remedy, every herb, and every method has its proper place. What matters is understanding when and how each should be used. This perspective often surprises others. They expect healing to be comforting. In truth, healing is about understanding what is needed and applying it with care. A simple solution is not always the most effective one, and nature rarely follows expectations. I have spent many years observing the flow of rivers, the health of forests, and the countless interactions that connect one life to another. Small changes rarely remain small for long. A single struggling plant may influence an entire valley, while a thriving one may encourage growth all around it. Because of this, I prefer observation before action. Most situations reveal their nature if given sufficient patience. The world is filled with cycles—growth and change, beginnings and conclusions. Most people cling to one while fearing the other. I see little reason to favor either. What matters is balance. And balance, unlike peace, must be maintained.
