Red Soul

It guards Egil's Torch in Kashuan Keep. It later appears in several other areas as a random encounter. One also appears as the boss of the Arcane Labyrinth's Southern Keep if the player has learned fewer than 7 main story Key Terms. The Red Soul is a powerful magical foe, and can be a challenge. In the first four rounds of the fight it will blast Fire VIII, Blizzard VIII, Thunder VIII, and Scourge VIII. It absorbs every type of offensive magic except non-elemental ones, such as Drain or Osmose. It also has a high resistance to physical attacks. It does not have nearly enough MP to support its high-powered spells, so after the first four rounds, it will revert to using a physical attack that only does minor damage.
