Unlike other instances where the Ink of Truth was summoned voluntarily as a sleek, specialized combat suit (such as the winged Chet form), this transformation was a defensive fail-safe reaction. Under extreme stress, Jonathan's heart rate spiked, causing a massive surge of adrenaline. The living ink, sensing its host's imminent mortality and overwhelming fear, bypassed the safety protocols of the collar. Rather than channeling a specific "Smiling Critter" spirit or a refined avian form, the ink dug deep into Jonathan’s own ancestral genetic blueprint, amplifying human primal survival instincts. The result was a terrifying, violent mutation: a colossal, skyscraper-sized Apex Titan reminiscent of King Kong, roaring out over the Kansas City skyline, challenging both the city and the dark forces pursuing him
