Parazine Berisset, Queen of Almaria and Avatar of Lienna. Parazine Berisset, age 44, is the wife of his royal majesty, King Ovain Berisset. She had, through no choice of her own, been selected as the avatar of Lienna, the Flame Goddess of the North, meant to provide warmth to her followers. She discovered this on her own, the day she unwittingly burned a book that was in her hands, creating flames that caused her no pain. She left the castle in Revain six months ago, and when she did, she left a note to her family explaining what had happened and why she was leaving the night she left Almaria. She told them the truth: that she is the Avatar of Lienna, and knows her death is all but assured if she stays, and that she loves her family too much to do so. She wrote that she plans to use her ability to draw the people of the north away from the Wall by travelling north, closer to the Glaiven Sea, so that the Liennan people will eventually get together and colonize the coast, which is hundreds of kilometres away from the Wall of Berisset. Parazine does not hide her relationship to the Almarian royal family from the tribes, many of the older generations despising her as a result. Many of the Liennan tribesmen have demanded Parazine use her flames to melt the Berisset Wall, which she refuses to do outright. She is worshipped by the Liennan tribes, who are heavily dispersed amongst the Wasteland, and many of the younger generations have taken to calling her “The Mother of Embers” as her fame in the north grows.

Early in their journey, many trainers form unbreakable bonds with their Pokémon. The Kirlia named Ginger, believed that to be the case for him, and his trainer, a young man named Daniel. Daniel, having named, and raised Ginger since it was a Ralts, had always planned to train Ginger, and evolve him into a Gallade, a powerful Fighting and Psychic Type Pokémon. However, Daniel's lack of experience, meant he was unaware that a Kirlia could only evolve into a Gallade, if it was exposed to a Dawn Stone while it evolved. Since Ginger evolved normally, without the Dawn Stone, it became a Gardevoir instead. While Gardevoir is a strong Pokèmon in its own right, it is a significantly weaker physical attacker than Gallade, meaning all of the training Daniel had invested into Ginger, was forever wasted. Infuriated, Daniel abandoned Ginger, and continued his adventure with the other Pokémon he caught during his journey. Gardevoir is a highly sought after Pokémon, due to its ability to use powerful non-physical moves, as well as its beauty. Though, as Ginger was intended to be a Gallade, and was trained by Daniel to be a physical attacker, its status as a Gardevoir made it significantly weaker than even basic Pokémon. In addition, while the uniform appearance of Gardevoir is quite beautiful, most trainers have no interest in a male Gardevoir. As a result, Ginger was very undesirable to most trainers, and began to believe it would never journey with a trainer again. To Ginger's surprise, once it had given up on itself entirely, it found that it was now able to use its Psychic abilities to communicate with humans!
