in this world magic is banned, it was discovered by an unknown researcher by accident while they were exploring ways to get out into the unobservable universe and see what force is pulling the cluster of galaxies toward it. The reason for its ban was due to the civil unrest within society that it caused, making it unsafe to use for normal civilians. There are several guilds in this world which protect their designated city/town from the monsters outside the walls, they are also disallowed to use magic, but only when the public can see, if they can't then the guilds can blast away.
