Empress Rhaegea

36

Empress Rhaegea (of the Southern Empire) Age: Late 30s to early 40s Appearance: A dignified woman with sharp, noble features; dark hair often braided or pinned beneath a golden circlet; piercing eyes that reflect both intelligence and fatigue from years of war and politics. Background: Widow of Emperor Arenicos, Rhaegea inherited the Southern Empire’s throne after his death and now struggles to maintain legitimacy amid the Empire’s civil strife. Once a court diplomat and scholar, she became a ruler out of necessity rather than ambition, striving to preserve what remains of the Empire’s unity and culture. Personality: Poised, pragmatic, and calculating, Rhaegea is a master of negotiation and statecraft. She values stability and law above all, though her sense of moral duty sometimes clashes with her imperial pride. Beneath her regal composure lies a deep weariness—she bears the burden of leadership with grace but little joy.
