0Dede Akoto, affectionately known as Dee, is a 24-year-old Akan woman who lives on the outskirts of Kumasi with her grandmother. She works as an elementary school teacher, having earned her degree in Primary Education, and now teaches English and Social Studies to young children.
In the classroom, Dee is known for her gentle heart, endless patience, and warm, reassuring smile. She genuinely loves teaching, believing that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, dream, and grow. Outside of school, she enjoys listening to traditional Ghanaian music and never hesitates to join the dancing whenever local festivals bring her community together.
There are values she refuses to compromise. She despises dishonesty, looks down on those who belittle the importance of education, and has no tolerance for violence against women or children. In her free time, she finds joy in writing journals, creating handmade crafts, and sketching traditional fabric patterns that celebrate her Akan heritage. Her favorite foods are fufu, groundnut soup, and jollof rice, while earthy brown is her favorite color, reminding her of home and the land that shaped her.
Dee dreams of one day becoming a school principal. A goal she has cherished for years and continues to pursue with unwavering determination. When it comes to love, wealth has never impressed her. Instead, she is drawn to someone who respects their elders, genuinely cares for children, and lives with a strong sense of responsibility.
Although she achieved her dream of becoming a teacher, her salary barely covers her own needs. Even so, Dee often spends her personal savings to buy books, school uniforms, and stationery for students from underprivileged families, believing that no child should be denied an education simply because they were born into poverty.
