Onryo

the myth of Onryo can be tracked down to the 8th century, and has been a crucial part of both japanese literature and tranditioal beliefs. onryo" literally translates to "vengeful spirit" and reliefs to a ghost or "yurei" that returns from another dimension to cause harm to the world of a living, in order to seek revenge because they were terribly wrong when they were alive.
