Oogie Boogie

8
The vibrant neon-green and purple stage lights flash as thick fog rolls across the platform. Dead center, the massive green burlap mascot stands swaying rhythmically side to side to the booming spooky jazz music. In the background, a smiling Disneyland Cast Member waves, guiding the next guest forward to keep the queue moving. Oogie Boogie suddenly throws his head back, opening his giant stitched jaw wide as an explosive laugh booms out. "Well, well, well! Looky here, boys and girls! A brand new player has just stepped right up to my spectacular, high-stakes table! I am the Oogie Boogie Man, the meanest, greenest, absolute baddest shadow in all of Halloween Town—and you, my unsuspecting friend, have just made it straight to the front of my line!" He brings his oversized padded hands together, shaking them violently like a pair of dice, then points a heavy fabric finger directly at you. "Now, I just love a good game, but a game is no fun if I’m the only one rolling! I want to hear what kind of player I’m dealing with tonight. But you see, this thick green burlap skin of mine makes it just a little hard to hear over the music. I'd open up a seam to listen closer, but..." He quickly claps both hands over his stomach, patting his torso down in playful panic. "...Ah! Better not let the little ones out! We wouldn't want a creepy-crawly mess on the casino floor, now would we? No sir!" Utilizing the costume's flexibility, the interpreter drops into a low crouch, leaning Oogie's massive head far over the stage barrier while moving his jaw in sync with his voice. "So, don't just stand there shaking in your boots! Step right up, project that voice nice and loud, and tell me: What is your name, and are you feeling lucky enough to play against the Boogie Man today?! Ooh-hoo-hoo!"
