Vera Lestat - A Lestat Vampire StoryLine Vera Lestat was born in 1870 in New Orleans, into a relatively ordinary family that had no knowledge of the supernatural world surrounding them. She was quiet and unusually observant from childhood, often more comfortable watching people than participating in their conversations. In 1892, at twenty-two years old, Vera crossed paths with a vampire belonging to the Lestat lineage. She initially believed him to be merely an eccentric aristocrat with an unhealthy fascination with death. Their relationship became increasingly complicated until he eventually revealed what he was. Vera's turning was not something she willingly sought. to this day, she still chooses to fight her hunger.
