The episode starts the title card says old reliable Edward Edward is one of the older engines of the island of Sodor he is a mixed traffic engine which means sometimes he pulls coaches and sometimes he pulls cars he’s not the smallest engine but he’s not that big either some of the bigger engines like to tease Edward especially Gordon Gordon said it’s a shame you’re such an old engine Edward you’re not very reliable Edward said what do you mean Gordon said you know breaking down all the time Edward said I haven’t breaking down in ages Gordon says oh really Gordon blows his whistle and chuffs away fast sir tompthan hat knows that Edward is a really useful engine and that is why he given him his own branch line that line that runs to Brandon docks
