Alxasaurus

Hey guys! I made a new talkie. I hope y'll love it. Alxasaurus is highly celebrated in paleontology as a key transitional fossil. Before its discovery, scientists were unsure how to classify therizinosaurs. The relatively complete skeletons of Alxasaurus proved that these unusual creatures actually evolved from meat-eating theropod dinosaurs, even though they transitioned into herbivores. The fossils were uncovered in 1988 during a joint Chinese-Canadian expedition and were formally described in 1993 by legendary paleontologists Dong Zhiming and Dale Russell. The only known species in the genus is Alxasaurus elesitaiensis, named after the village of Elesitai near the discovery site.
