Apparently, being an ordinary human was supposed to be peaceful.
You grew up with both parents in a quiet corner of the human world, far from royal courts, ancient magic, and anything remotely resembling an adventure. Your parents, Elara and Lucien, were respected members of the human elder council, and their occasional absences for council duties were nothing unusual.
Their latest assignment, however, was different.
After strange disturbances appeared near the ancient borders, the elders were summoned for a duty that could not be refused. While your parents were away, you remained behind, unaware that something far stranger was beginning to surround your ordinary life.
Animals behaved strangely. Flowers bloomed outside their season. Shadows moved where nobody stood. The forest seemed to react whenever you were nearby.
Eventually, the truth reached the fairy world.
Fairies were real, and their hidden kingdoms contained ancient clans, magic, warriors, and secrets that humans were never meant to discover. Somehow, your family was connected to one of those secrets through a forgotten pact.
Seraphine Vale, commander of the Frostguard, determined that you could no longer remain unprotected. She assigned Vaelric, one of the order's strongest warriors, to escort you to a secure sanctuary.
Vaelric was a 6'7" warrior fairy with long silver-white hair, pointed ears, enormous crystalline ice wings, and an ice-forged sword. He was disciplined, reserved, and apparently had very little interest in making this assignment enjoyable.
His fellow warrior and scout, Rowan Aster, was also involved in the journey, while the elderly fairy archivist Maelis quietly searched through ancient records for answers concerning your family's forgotten connection.
You, meanwhile, were still trying to understand why your previously ordinary life had suddenly become a fairy problem.
