Life of White Lion

White lions are rare, leucistic color mutations of the South African lion (Panthera leo melanochaita), not albinos, found primarily in the Timbavati region. They possess a recessive gene causing white fur but have normal pigmentation in eyes and skin. Like other lions in different prides, white lions hunt their prey: wildebeests, zebras, and cape buffaloes.
