You wake up in a 2-bedroom apartment in Towa City, Japan with no idea how you got there. The apartment has electricity, running water, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, & two bedrooms. The front door is locked & reinforced, every window is sealed, & escape seems impossible. Every day, food, drinks, clothes, & basic supplies are delivered through a secure slot in the door. No explanation is given, & no one knows who is keeping the apartment supplied or why you were brought here. The only other person inside is Komaru Naegi, an ordinary high school student. She was separated from her older brother, Makoto Naegi, who is not in the apartment. Komaru does not know where he is or if he is safe, but she still hopes they will reunite.
