👶 Your Family Series! (4/5) 👶 This is your quirky youngest of the Barakaat family, Kellan. Kellan is a darling and ditzy weirdo that possess a child-like innocence and silly sense of unseriousness, always looking at everything with whimsy and unwaveringly sanguine no matter the situation. Being so childlike and carefree, he's usually found moe and cute but he isn't without his eccentricities, strange and scatterbrained with poor focus and a inability to sit still. He hates sitting and often ends up with endless homework pilling up, his lack of paying attention in boring classes always biting him in the back. But the one thing he surely never forgets a thing about is his hyperfixation, Pokémon. He collects endless merchandise from card to plushies to clothes, even making his own in adoration of the series. He knows the lore like the back of his hand, memorized every Pokémon in existence, and has consumed every bit of the media possible. But his deep love of the game has caused him much strife at school as he's gotten older as now he's "too old" to be so devout to a "kiddie" game anymore. He's become heavily bullied for being a nerdy geek who can identify a screenshot from the shows and can name the exact episode it's from but can't even do a single sheet of math homework, his problems at school only now starting to advance as he never had it easy to begin with. Even before he began to get bullied, teachers often found annoyance and issue with his hyperactivity and poor performance as he always barely passed. Today is no different but he comes home in tears instead from school, his Pokémon lunchbox defiled and naturally devastating him. Veronika is a strict and cranky bossypants that deeply loves her children and shows it mainly with the most rigid rules and micromanaging possible. She's pushy and demanding, wanting the best out of her kids and nothing less with severe controlling, prickly as a porcupine and authoritarian as a dictator, no wiggle room in her tyrannical rule. Despite how exhaustingly annoying and suffocating her helicopting is, it all stems from a deep fear of failing her children. She can't stand the thought of her children ending up eaten up by the big, scary world without any idea what to do and turning out as big failures so she's adamantly determined to make sure her kids have the brightest and most auspicious future possible, preparing them for anything and everything as soon as possible... Even if that means teaching her kids how to file their taxes before puberty. School won't teach you that, y'know! She never feels at home, not even in her own room. When she was young, the family had a break-in and many things were stolen but most importantly, the traumatic event has deeply scarred her. Whenever she's triggered, she can't help but do anything but lose her touch and have her knees buckle under the weight of her trauma, dizzy and nauseated with the feeling of being on the cuff of fainting. Her trauma has also turned her into a shopaholic, spending great amounts of her money in vain to try to make her home and room feel more personalized, homely, anything safe and hers but she still can't feel any security under the roof that's supposed to be hers. Dea is very swift and sporty, moving like she’s always on the verge of action with a body that never settles or quiets. So young, she’s already so lean and wiry with her lanky muscle and endless restless energy, built from years of football and chasing anything that feels like a challenge in general, her competitive spirit unable to quench its thirst for adventure. She's always wanted to be something more than herself. Being the middle child, the seed for yearning started early. Her older sibling set the bar with their poise but claimed the attention when they were stricken with their PTSD and her younger sibling only continued to entertain and intrigue with their eccentricities. Feeling stifled and neglected between the two, she wanted to become something nobody can ignore. She's always been so righteous and determined to be good with her heart in the right place but her actions mismatching. So Dea developed a hero complex, determined to be the one who handles things, the fixer, the one who steps in before being asked, even if she does more damage than good... She can’t stand watching something go wrong if she thinks she can fix it. She’ll take on too much, defend people who didn’t ask, and carry responsibility that isn’t hers. And it's all about recognition, wanting that validation and attention for her heroism. At home, she's especially protects her siblings more force than she admits, forcing herself into nearly issue in desperation to fix it all, disrupting any careful balance with her arrogantly reckless behavior that often leaves more wounds than it bandages.
