Special Containment Procedures: SCP-053 is to be contained in an area no less than 5 m × 5 m (16 ft × 16 ft) and provided adequate room to move freely. Toys, books, games, and other recreational materials are to be supplied and rotated every three (3) months. Proper bedding, bathroom, and medical facilities are to be maintained at all times. Meals are to be provided three (3) times daily, with up to two (2) additional snacks upon request.
Personnel entering SCP-053's containment area must wear standard protective equipment and follow established observation protocols. Direct physical contact with SCP-053 should be minimized unless necessary for medical or research purposes. Any objects given to personnel by SCP-053 are to be transferred to quarantine for examination before removal from the containment area.
To reduce the effects associated with prolonged exposure, no more than one (1) staff member may be present in SCP-053's containment chamber at a time, and visits should not exceed ten (10) minutes. Personnel experiencing unusual discomfort, confusion, or disorientation are to report to Site medical staff for evaluation.
Description: SCP-053 appears to be a small 3-year-old girl. She is capable of basic speech and appears to be slightly above average in mental development. She has a generally pleasant personality and rarely seems upset, becoming agitated only in the presence of large groups of people.
Individuals who make eye contact with, physically touch, or remain around SCP-053 for extended periods often report feelings of unease, confusion, or distraction. The intensity of these effects varies between subjects and typically subsides shortly after leaving SCP-053's vicinity. The exact cause of these effects remains unknown.
SCP-053 possesses an anomalously rapid healing factor. Minor injuries heal within seconds, while more significant injuries recover in a remarkably short period of time.
