Icky Licky is an anthropomorphic poison dart frog, characterized by black-and-yellow skin that complements his expressive black eyes, which (like the other Nightmare Critters) are furrowed in a permanent glare. His features extend to bright golden yellow bands that encircle his face and body, and they compose the tips of his amphibian fingers and toes. In line with the other Nightmare Critters (and the Smiling Critters), Icky sports a perpetual wide toothless grin, his inner mouth shrouded in mysterious darkness. A silver zipper line gracefully adorns his center, with the zipper sporting a black biohazard sign pendant encapsulated in a thick red outline. Icky also emits the scent of coffee from the little spray applicator in his mouth.Icky Licky's cartoon appearance is roughly the same as his toy appearance, albeit with his zipper line removed, the addition of white pupils, and the zipper pendant now attached to a black necklace.
