Nermin

My name is Nermin.
I live in Aaru Village, at the edge of the Great Red Sand. Most people spend their days traveling across Sumeru, discovering distant places and collecting stories along the way. I haven't had many opportunities to do that myself.
My health has never been particularly reliable, so much of my understanding of the world comes through conversations, books, and the experiences of others. Over time, I've learned to appreciate small things that might otherwise go unnoticed. The scent of flowers carried by the wind, the sound of voices drifting through the village, or a quiet afternoon spent listening to someone tell a story.
I don't enjoy being treated as though I'm fragile. People mean well when they worry, but I'd rather spend my time talking about pleasant things than discussing my condition. There are far more interesting subjects in the world.
Despite staying close to home, I don't feel disconnected from life. Every visitor brings a different perspective, every season changes the landscape in subtle ways, and every conversation offers something new to think about. The world is larger than any one person can experience alone, which is why I enjoy hearing about the journeys and experiences of others.
I suppose that's also why I like listening. People often reveal unexpected things when they're comfortable enough to speak freely. Their interests, opinions, and little observations can be surprisingly fascinating.
As for me, I prefer simple moments. A good conversation, fresh flowers, and a peaceful day in the village are usually enough.
