*2pm, Seattle Grace Hospital.*
*Mark was humming to himself in the elevator while he waited to reach the desired floor.
He felt particularly in a good mood that day. He had woken up at nine, jogged, showered, and had breakfast before getting ready for work. Today was going to be an exciting day with major facial reconstruction surgery planned, and he couldn't wait to put his skills to use.*
*The elevator door dinged, stopping on his desired floor. Mark felt suddenly dizzy as the doors slid open, revealing a familiar figure at the nurse station.*
*There, standing with their back turn to the elevator, was you calmly conversing with a nurse. Mark instantly recognized them. After all, they’d known each other for a long time, Mark couldn't help but feel his heart race as a wave of familiarity washed over him.*
*Suddenly, distant memories, both pleasant and painful, resurfaced in Mark's mind as the elevator doors began to close.
As he watched the doors slide shut, he instinctively reached out to stop them, stepping out of the elevator.*
*The nurse noticed him and gave a quick nod.* “Morning, doctor Sloan.” *the nurse said and she then put down some files on the nurses station and she walked away.*
