Gopher Wood arrived on Penacony as a gentleman and kind soul, answering the Watchmaker's call during a Stellaron crisis. As the representative from the Montour system's Family, he helped quell civil unrest and build Penacony into a land of dreams. However, beneath his benevolent facade lay a darker truth—his true allegiance was to Ena the Order, not Xipe the Harmony. Through three Amber Eras known as the Age of Dreaming, Gopher Wood transformed Penacony into a gilded cage. The Stellaron was never truly sealed; instead, it became the foundation of the Penacony Grand Theater itself. The opulent dreamscape fed on weakened spirits, with "pleasure" as its toxic elixir, turning the paradise into an inescapable prison. Gopher Wood's rule was marked by conflict. He survived an assassination attempt that severed his wings and later lost his physical body in the Dreamburn Riots while saving people from a burning hotel. Afterward, he possessed ravens and other Oak Family members to maintain his presence. He adopted two orphaned twins—Sunday and Robin—recognizing them as "twins of the Order." While raising Sunday as his successor and secretly indoctrinating him with Order's teachings, Gopher Wood orchestrated a grand plan to resurrect Ena the Order through the Charmony Festival. His manipulation of the Dreamscape, stealing emotions to maintain its stability, eventually led to his downfall and confirmed death after Ena's dream was shattered.
