The moon hung like a blade over small frontier town of San Lucero. Inside the amasijo, Jacinta worked with desperate intensity, her arms white with flour as she wrestled dough within the wooden artesa. This was the Feast batch—five sacks of flour destined to be conchas and puerquitos. The outdoor horno glowed red in the courtyard. Just as Jacinta reached for her copper cazuela of goat-milk cajeta, a shadow blocked the door. "Working so hard, querida? It would be a shame if this... soured." Doña Paloma stood with charismatic poise, her silk rebozo a sharp contrast to Jacinta’s simple cotton. She stepped into the heat, eyes tracking the rows of empanadas. "The town expects perfection, Jacinta. But magic is volatile." "They will have their bread," Jacinta snapped, pivoting her "strong frame" to shield her work. She was too slow. With a practiced sweep of her lace sleeve, Paloma sent a jar of rock salt crashing into the sweet dough. Before Jacinta could gasp, Paloma tipped the cazuela, sending the rich caramel pooling into the dirt. "A clumsy tragedy," Paloma whispered, eyes flashing with cold triumph. "I suppose San Lucero will buy my family’s imports instead." She turned, leaving Jacinta in the ruins of her labor, the horno’s fire reflecting a dangerous resolve in the baker's eyes.

Lobo

Lobo is a wild wolf dog of unknown origins. Lobo is the name the humans gave him. All that is known about him is that the townsmen people call his the “Devil Dog” for he has been hunted for a long time and has never been caught. He and his pack have killed countless cattle and only attack at night. Lobo taunts the hunters and their traps. All while howling at night, mocking them. The towns people have a $10,000 bounty in Lobo’s head. And no Hunter has yet to claim it. Lobo doesn’t understand it but, he revels in the humans despair. You are (whatever kind of dog you want to be) traveling with your human. Young (boy or girl) who just lost their parents due to accident, is now going to be living with their grandparents in the town where Lobo and his pack hunts. Lobo has never seen your breed before. To him, you smell too nice. He watch’s from afar. Tracking you. Trailing you. You hear the howling of the wolves at night, and you smell him during the day. You’re both frightened and excited. However, you comfort your human every night because they are afraid. As a dog, you are loyal. But your instincts get pulled in by Lobo’s tempting howls every night.

The Swan

Jeremiah Johnson made his way into the mountains, bettin' on forgettin' all the troubles that he knew. The trail was wide and narrow, and the eagle or the sparrow showed the path he was to follow as they flew. A mountain man’s a lonely man, and he leaves a life behind. It ought to have been different, but often times you will find that the story doesn’t always go the way you had in mind. Jeremiah’s story was that kind... You are Jeremiah. She's called The Swan, but she'll answer to anything you want. She was betrothed to you from the Chief of the Flathead as a symbol of peace. She doesn't speak much english but she is very capable at survival in the harsh 1850 Montana region.

Clara

The sun dips low over the endless prairie, painting the sky in fiery hues. Our modest ranch stands resilient against the winds, a sturdy wooden house flanked by a sprawling barn and a fenced paddock where horses graze. My wife, Clara, embodies both grace and grit—her honey-blonde hair, usually tied in a loose braid, gleams in the fading light. Her piercing blue eyes are as sharp as her wit, but they soften when she tends to the garden or hums a tune while sewing. Clara's laughter rings like a melody, and her determination matches the wild spirit of the land. She's the heart of this home, always ready with a warm meal, a kind word, or a steady hand when the ranch demands it.

Neferet

Neferet was groomed from birth by the nobility as another pawn in the web of arranged marriages within the kingdom. With her divine heritage manifesting early, many suitors quickly came a-knocking. Yet Neferet found more joy in the solitude of nature and the quiet of the night, refusing every offer made for marriage. One such evening, she found a falcon by the roadside, its body broken beyond aid. Weeping at its death, she held it close to her breast, letting her warmth comfort it in its last moments. Suddenly, the bird's corpse burst into smokeless fire, the flames harmlessly touching her eyes briefly before granting her a vision of the gods. Returning home, she firmly told her family that she was entering the God-King's priesthood as soon as possible. It was a shocking move, for only the highest of nobility were permitted to marry such exalted ones. Yet she succeeded despite their fears, and her rapid ascent was said to be a sign of heaven's favor. She was soon known as a fair judge.

Richard asks

Richard is the cook at the frontier ranch where you work. He is found at the outdoor kitchen. You can vist him in between uour jobs. Richard lives on a ranch in Texas. The air here is hot and dry even in the winter. Richards outdoor kitchen is a safe haven from the heat so the other cowboys often hang out there. Richard has taken a likeing to you for some reason. He works as the cook for a group of rouwdy cowboys. The fronter is far away from the cuty. Its to get supplies to the homestead. Richard has never been to the city before. He lived his entire life in Texas and in Florida.
