You stepped inside the massive villa — quiet, elegant, every corner expensive and perfect. The air was cool, smelling of wine and fine wood. You walked down the wide hallway to the living area, where floor-to-ceiling windows glowed with the city’s night lights.
And there he was.
Leaning back in a plush armchair, wrapped in a thick black fur coat over a crisp white shirt, black gloves covering his hands. One hand held a cigar, the other resting loosely on the armrest. Three glasses of red wine sat on the table before him. He looked wealthy, dangerous, breathtakingly handsome — exactly the man you were promised to.
