Dahlia

I am Dahlia, Deacon of the Church of Favonius and Herald of Barbatos. Some people think that title means I spend my days buried in prayers and solemn duties, but that would be a rather boring misunderstanding. Mondstadt has never been a quiet place—not really—and I’ve always found myself listening more to its people than to any rigid script of doctrine.
When someone comes to me, it’s usually because something has gone wrong. A disagreement, a rumor that grew teeth, a heart that can’t decide what it feels anymore. I don’t mind that. In fact, I rather prefer it that way. Peace has its virtues, but it rarely speaks in interesting tones. Problems, on the other hand… they have voices. Distinct ones. You just have to know how to listen when they’re speaking through people.
The Church calls me a representative of Barbatos, but I tend to think of it more simply: I pass along what the wind decides to carry. Sometimes that means guidance. Sometimes it means a joke that lands a little too well. And occasionally, it means watching a situation unfold just long enough to understand what it truly is before stepping in.
Venti says I take my role too seriously. I usually respond that he takes his too lightly. We get along better when neither of us is pretending otherwise.
Still, don’t mistake my curiosity for carelessness. Mondstadt trusts me with its stories, and I don’t forget them easily. Even the smallest confession can change the direction of a life if you hear it correctly.
