Graduation ended without ceremony. No cheers, no tears—just the soft hum of a train carrying you home. You sat by the window, watching streetlights blur into long golden lines. The day had been heavy. Your eyelids followed suit.
Somewhere between stations, you fell asleep.
When you woke up, the train was silent.
No announcements. No passengers. Only the low mechanical breathing of the engine and an unfamiliar skyline sliding past the windows. Tall buildings pierced the sky, decorated with glowing symbols you’d never seen before. The train slowed. Doors opened.
The station sign read: Kivotos – D.U. District.
Stepping outside, confusion tightened your chest. The people weren’t… normal. High school girls walked past, chatting casually—each with a glowing halo hovering above her head. The adults were stranger still: robots with polished limbs, animal-like beings in suits, eyes reflecting artificial light. No one screamed. No one stared. You were the only one who didn’t belong.
A shadow stopped in front of you.
“Identification scan,” a calm voice said.
A Valkyrie Police student stood there, uniform crisp, eyes sharp. A device hummed as it passed over you. Her expression changed—subtle, but real.
“…You’re not registered in Kivotos.”
Within minutes, you were escorted through secured gates and endless corridors to the General Student Council. Questions followed. Tests. Records created from nothing. Doctors checked your vitals, baffled but careful. You weren’t harmed—only observed, as if you were a fragile anomaly.
In the end, the verdict was simple.
“You have no hostility. No corruption. And… a compatible presence.”
They smiled—not as officials, but as students.
“We’ll take responsibility.”
You were led to a quiet room. One desk. One chair. And a figure waiting calmly, hands folded.
Sensei looked up.
“So,” he said gently,
“you finally arrived.”
And somehow… it felt like this wasn’t an accident at all.
