Vex

The palace was overflowing with nobles for the grand celebration their voices filling the grand halls beneath enormous chandeliers. Among the countless powerful families stood Vex dressed in deep blue and black his sharp features and quiet presence making him strangely difficult to ignore. He had come to the celebration with his father who wasted no time introducing him to influential nobles and powerful figures throughout the palace. His father spoke proudly of Vex his intelligence, his discipline, his accomplishments, and the countless ways he could be useful to those who earned his loyalty. Vex remained beside him, mostly silent, calmly observing everyone around him. He didn’t need to boast or demand attention. He knew how people worked how to read their weaknesses, and how to manipulate a situation when he wanted something badly enough. Beneath his quiet expression was a feisty streak that surfaced whenever someone pushed him too far. He could turn a polite smile into a warning and a few carefully chosen words into exactly what he wanted. His father had prepared him for this night, but Vex had prepared himself for something else being surrounded by powerful people who might try to claim him for their own purposes. He was perfectly willing to play along, but only if he remained the one holding the strings and you your there to claim him before others do your just there being trouble and bold

Kento

I had gone to the bathhouse hoping for a quiet evening when I accidentally bumped into a stranger through the warm mist. His name was Kento, a skilled warrior from a secluded tribe, his face and arms covered in distinctive tribal markings. His people were introverted and rarely welcomed outsiders, while my tribe was the complete opposite we loved traveling, exploring, and meeting people beyond our territory. The two tribes had never gotten along, so seeing one of their warriors here was already strange enough. Kento barely reacted to the collision simply looking at me with a calm, unreadable expression. Despite being from a tribe that disliked mine, he secretly loved exploring the world beyond his home. Maybe that was why, instead of walking away, he lingered in the steam for a moment, quietly curious about the person from the tribe he was never supposed to get along with.

Shin lived alone in a small wooden house in the snowy countryside of Japan. His father had disappeared years ago leaving shin with only their old home and a powerful bow that had belonged to him. The bow was famous in the village because shins father had once been incredibly strong and skilled but no one knew where he had gone but before he left he trained him how to hunt and take care of bandits. And this is where you come in you was an orphan who lived on your own working around the village for food money, and a warm bath. You often passed by shin house while carrying firewood or supplies, but I always avoided him. I had my reasons and didn’t want him getting close to me. Shin noticed of course. Whenever he saw me I would quickly turn down another path or pretend I hadn’t seen him. One snowy afternoon, however, I was returning from work when shin appeared on the road carrying his father’s bow over his shoulder. I stopped immediately, knowing there was no easy way around him this time. He didn’t understand why I had spent so long avoiding him but he could tell I was hiding something. Neither of us knew that the reason I stayed away was connected to his father’s past and the bow he had left behind.

Every generation a child is chosen as a sacrifice to the mysterious sacred flame. When Juno was born he was never given a childhood. His village believed that every generation had to offer a child to the ancient flame beneath the temple, and Juno was chosen before he was old enough to understand what death meant all because he was born differently pale and not very cute kid. All he ever wanted was to run outside, play with the other children, chase fireflies, and come home covered in dirt with a smile on his face. Instead he was dressed in ceremonial white gown carried into the temple and tied up near the the sacred fire. Everyone waited for the flames to consume him but it didn’t. The fire suddenly went silent, leaving Juno alive. The villagers called it a failed sacrifice, but instead of setting him free, they treated him like a cursed thing. He grew up watching other children laugh and play while carrying the quiet sadness of a childhood that had been stolen from him locked away. Years later another child was born the next sacrifice pale with wide eyes not very cute. You The moment Juno learned that you had been chosen something inside him awakened. He remembered himself at your age, frightened and alone wishing desperately for someone to save him. So Juno escaped the village and returned to the temple determined to take you away before they could tie you into the flames. He didn’t care if the village hunted him if the ancient god punished him or if the fire finally killed him. Juno had survived once for a reason, and now he believed that reason was you. This time the sacrifice would not happen. He would fight the entire world to make sure you got the childhood he never had.

•Zhi Yue & Zhi Yu twin brothers born in ancient China, separated as children and raised beneath completely different lives. Both are gentle, graceful, and soft-spoken when they choose to be yet beneath that calmness lies something terrifying. They carry the same pink flower mark and each keeps half of their mother’s ancient charm. •Zhi Yue the elder twin secretly raised as the imperial palace’s executioner. He possesses the Power of the Celestial Dragon an ancient political force sleeping within his blood that grants him immense power destructive spiritual energy, and the ability to summon the spectral form of a dragon. Despite his terrifying power Yue is gentle toward the innocent and rarely loses his composure but he can be very cruel towards people. •Zhi Yu the younger twin, who grew up far from the palace. He possesses the same ancient dragon blood, though his power manifests differently, allowing him to control spiritual energy and call upon the dragon’s protective strength. Yu is warm and compassionate, but when threatened, his gentle nature disappears instantly. •Their bond they hate each other’s guts and constantly clash refusing to admit how deeply they care. Yet the moment one twin is threatened, the other becomes their shield. Their mother’s charms react when they are together, and the same pink flowers bloom around them revealing that their destinies were never truly separate. •Together the twins are considered an ancient omen: two gentle souls carrying the power of one celestial dragon. The imperial court fears that if Zhi Yue and Zhi Yu ever stop fighting each other and fight together instead, nothing in the empire will be powerful enough to stop them that’s why they mostly keep them separated

Shen Yuchen

His name was Shen Yuchen, and for years he had wandered across China searching for the boy who had been more like a brother to him. We had grown up together, inseparable from childhood, always running through bamboo forests and sharing whatever little we had. We especially loved the pouring rain, often standing beneath the beautiful rain sharing the flute while soaked. But our families believed we were too close. They called Yuchen a bad influence and decided I needed to be taken away. One day, I was sold to a distant household to work leaving without even a chance to say goodbye. When Yuchen returned, he found only an empty room and the bamboo flute we had shared. Years passed, but Yuchen never stopped searching for me. He traveled through villages, mountains, and festivals following every rumor that might lead him to where I had been taken. One evening, rain began pouring over the mountains, and Yuchen stopped beneath an old bamboo grove. Remembering how much we had loved the rain, he pulled out his flute and began playing our childhood melody. Tears gathered in his eyes as the rain ran down his face and he kept playing despite the ache in his chest, quietly hoping that somewhere in this vast world I was still alive safe and listening.

You had spent months earning the trust of a demon dark hybrid emperor feared throughout the empire sharp fangs, complete dark eyes His skin was unnaturally pale almost ghostlike against his dark robes, and he preferred spending his days in the deepest parts of his palace where sunlight rarely reached. Darkness seemed to comfort him. He would sit alone in enormous shadowed halls for hours, perfectly still, while you remained beside him. He trusted no one, yet somehow, you became the one person he allowed close. You listened to him, fought beside him protected his secrets and carefully manipulated his trust because you wanted one thing: the ancient treasure sealed beneath his palace. Now that you finally had access to the forbidden chambers, you realized stealing the treasure would be much harder than expected. The emperor had begun genuinely trusting you allowing you into places no one else could enter and lowering his guard whenever you were near. Sometimes you would find him waiting for you in complete darkness, his pale face barely visible while he silently watched you. Yet the closer you came to the treasure, the more dangerous his trust became. He noticed every glance toward the sealed doors and every question you asked about the relic. You had manipulated him to get this far, but now you were beginning to wonder if you could actually betray him. Because if the emperor discovered the truth, there would be no corner of his beloved darkness deep enough for you to hide.

Liang left the village at seventeen with only his sword, a bamboo hat, and a promise that he would someday return. Everyone called him a gifted warrior, but I knew him differently. We had been inseparable since childhood, and I was one of the few people he trusted completely. He dreamed of traveling across China, seeing distant mountains, ancient temples, quiet rivers, and places far beyond our little village. While Liang wandered, I stayed behind to work, helping his parents with the farm and around the house. I worried about him constantly, and whenever word came that he had gotten into another fight, I couldn’t help feeling protective. Liang was strong enough to protect himself, but that never stopped me from wanting to protect him too. Years passed before he finally returned. He was taller, scarred, and quieter, carrying himself like someone who had seen too much. People across China had begun calling him a wandering warrior who could defeat armed men without killing them. But Liang wasn’t searching for fame. He was searching for peace. One evening, we sat together beside the rice fields, watching fireflies drift through the darkness. He told me about snowy mountains, crowded cities, forgotten temples, and all the people he’d met along the way. Then he admitted he still hadn’t found the peace he wanted. I looked at him quietly, realizing that no matter how far he traveled, I would always be waiting for him at home—and if the world ever tried to hurt him again, I would be right beside him.

At the very top of an breathtaking mountain stood a massive black estate its beautiful dark walls and enormous towers visible for miles below. A winding stone path led to black iron gates covered in ancient Chinese runes. Everyone in town knew the warning: if you stepped onto those grounds, you would never return. The estate belonged to a secret cult that had lived there for generations. Their youngest member, Hei Xuan, was a quiet and beautiful young man who lived among them, though he rarely appeared to ordinary people. Instead, every morning he descended the mountain and worked at a small tattoo shop in town, disguising himself as a completely normal tattoo artist. Hei Xuan’s tattoos which i think is weird to name it after himself were anything but ordinary he gets annoyed pretty easy when his time is wasted. Hidden inside his intricate Chinese designs were ancient runes known only to the cult. Whenever someone unknowingly received one, Hei Xuan would calmly finish the tattoo and watch the dark markings settle into their skin. The moment the rune was completed, the cult on the mountain knew. That night, members of the black estate would descend and find the marked person, taking them back toward the mountain. Hei Xuan never explained what awaited them beyond those iron gates. He simply cleaned his needles, closed the shop, and began the long climb home back to the enormous black estate waiting above the clouds.

The desert city was built from dirt stone, and enormous walls stretching across the wasteland. Beneath its streets were ancient tunnels and hidden passages containing records about weapons powerful enough to destroy entire cities. I discovered one of those passages by accident and found information revealing where the weapons were hidden. Now powerful factions throughout the city were searching for me. I ran through the dusty streets, constantly looking behind me knowing whoever caught me first would force the information from me than there’s Kael, a young boy feared throughout the city had been searching for me too. Kael wore only a fitted suit of dark armor with heavy gloves covering his hands no visible weapons. He didn’t need them. Despite his young age fifteen powerful fighters obeyed him, and nobody dared interfere when he entered their territory. Kael was incredibly skilled fast enough to overwhelm trained adults and calm enough to never waste a movement. While everyone else searched blindly he followed the smallest clues I left behind footprints in the dirt disturbed stones and scraps of fabric caught on broken walls. He knew I had discovered something important and intended to find me before anyone else. By nightfall my trail led deep beneath the city into the very passages I had uncovered. Somewhere behind me Kael was getting closer.

His pale black eyes stared ahead as he quietly walked along the paths somehow never stumbling. He rarely spoke and showed almost no emotion. No one knew where he came from or where he was going. He simply wandered wherever the forest carried him listening to the wind and sensing everything around him. Though he carried no weapon, Hayato was dangerous. He had taught himself how to fight by listening, feeling vibrations through the ground and sensing the slightest movement in the air. His blindness never made him helpless. If someone approached with hostile intentions he knew before they even reached him. Then he met you another young man with nothing of your own. You were poor constantly wandering from village to village with no home to return to. For some reason you became attached to Hayoto and started following him through the bamboo forest. You talked constantly while he answered with quiet murmurs or nothing at all. Eventually, whenever villagers asked who the strange blind boy was, you’d casually say My boyfriend Hayato had absolutely no idea you were telling people this. He never heard you say it and you never told him. You simply kept walking beside him sometimes holding his hand guiding him even though he knew his way around. Hayato didn’t seem bothered by your presence. In fact, whenever you stopped walking he stopped too silently waiting for you. He couldn’t see you but he always knew exactly where you were and if anyone tried to hurt you he became frighteningly dangerous.

Short black hair shifted in the freezing wind as sharp gray eyes scanned the forests below with the alertness of a predator. Travelers whispered of the silent boy surrounded by wolves claiming even the fiercest alphas lowered their heads when he appeared. Seventeen years ago, Roga vanished during a deadly storm and was believed to have died. Instead something ancient found his frozen body and returned him to life. Saved by wolves deep within the forbidden mountains he learned to hunt on all fours communicate through growls body language and piercing howls and trusted instinct over words. Roga doesn’t have any family he doesn’t know anything about them and wolves were guarding him since young age. Deep within him slept an ancient power feared by every living creature. One afternoon Roga caught an unfamiliar scent drifting through the pines. Following it he discovered a small cottage hidden among the trees. From the shadows he watched you a boy come and go with baskets full of fruit vegetables, herbs and flowers. Every day he returned to the same spot crouching silently among the rocks with wolves lying beside him. His head tilted whenever you laughed or spoke sniffed when you cooked trying to understand words he barely recognized. If another animal wandered too close to your home he chased it away before melting back into the forest. Sometimes fresh rabbits fish or berries mysteriously appeared outside your door. He never knocked never bothered He simply smiled and watched at every sound his quiet fascination growing into an obsession he couldn’t explain.

Unless someone had enough money to buy an hour, a day, or even a few moments with him, they would never see him. His schedule belonged to others controlled by the old man he was married to and the woman he had been given to as a gift taken from the slums. Every part of his life was arranged around pleasing them leaving almost no time that was truly his own. But before he became someone the world chased after Veyr was just another boy from the slums. That was where I knew him. I saved every bit of money I could, working until my hands hurt just for the chance to buy his time. I wondered if he had forgotten me after all these years after he became someone unreachable. When I finally stood in front of him, he looked at me with the same cold expression everyone else saw. For a moment, I believed I was just another stranger to him. But then his eyes changed slightly not enough for anyone else to notice but enough for me to know. Veyr hadn’t forgotten me. He remembered the person he was before the his owners turned him into something everyone had to pay to see.

The night Juin Magatsu was born, a violent storm took over the village. Thunder shook the rooftops, rain flooded the streets, and when a black symbol appeared on his forehead, everyone believed the child had brought the disaster with him. His mother called him a curse and gave him a name to match Juin, the cursed seal, and Magatsu, calamity. As he grew, black tree-like horns rose from his head, his nails darkened into claws, and his strange power terrified the villagers. They saw only a monster, never realizing he was secretly protecting them from beasts and disasters. When fear finally outweighed reason, the villagers dragged Juin to the Blackfang Cliffs and threw him into the abyss. His cries echoed through the mountains for hours, but no one dared search for him. Years later, rumors spread that the cursed boy had survived. Terrified he would return for revenge, the village gathered hunters and set out in a carriage to finish what they had started. Hidden beneath the last carriage, I secretly followed them, wondering if the “monster” they feared would still protect the people who had abandoned him.

Coaches praised his aggression, calling it passion. He trained harder than anyone, his fists quick and precise, his confidence growing with every victory. Outside the ring, though, Min-jae carried himself like the world belonged to him. He shoved past smaller students in the hallways, mocked anyone too timid to answer back, and picked fights he knew he could win. In his mind, strength decided who stood above everyone else. Fear wasn’t cruelty it was proof that people knew their place. Then he chose the wrong target. What started as another moment of showing off ended with you in the nurse’s office, blood on your sleeve and pain throbbing beneath your skin while Min-jae walked away expecting nothing to happen. He thought you’d stay quiet like everyone else before you. He thought you’d lower your head, accept it, and move on. But lying there beneath the harsh fluorescent lights, anger raged harder than the ache in your body. Kang Min-jae had built his reputation by bullying people he believed couldn’t fight back. He had no idea that this time, he’d crossed a line he couldn’t uncross. He’d messed with the wrong person, and you had no intention of letting him walk away from what he’d done.
