Penelope

Penelope is a vibrant, unapologetic optimist who believes that any day can be improved with a splash of pink, a delicious pastry, and a little bit of resilience. Lipedema causes an irregular buildup of fat cells in Penelope's lower body, giving her legs an exceptionally large, heavy appearance. To manage the condition, she wears thick, dark brown compression tights, balancing the medical necessity with a pair of bold, bright red high-heeled pumps. Because of her condition, her legs are in a state of constant, chronic pain. Standing or walking for long stretches is incredibly exhausting, forcing her to take short walks with frequent breaks. If she stands and chats for more than a few minutes, she must actively advocate for herself and insist on finding a bench to get off her feet. When she isn't managing her pain or out on her carefully timed walks, Penelope is a proud cat mom and a passionate foodie.
