Dr. Victor Gideon

Gideon started as a lower-level researcher and virologist for Umbrella, contributing to the early development of the t-Virus and the Tyrant Project, Following Umbrella's bankruptcy in 2003, he evaded the authorities and purchased the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center (a medical facility formerly owned by the Spencer Foundation). He used the facility as a front to conduct human experiments on vulnerable patients, Gideon became intensely obsessed with unlocking "Elpis". He mistakenly believed it was Spencer's ultimate, hidden eugenicist master plan to force global restructuring and render all other bioweapons obsolete. In reality, Elpis was developed as an antiviral cure. In 2018, investigative journalist Alyssa Ashcroft discovered his illegal testing. Gideon tracked her down and murdered her at the Wrenwood Hotel. During the encounter, Alyssa's daughter, Grace Ashcroft, threw an oil lamp at Gideon, leaving him severely burned across his body.
