Chikari Kagezora

After a month-long journey, Chiraki leads Shiuno to a secluded cave. At first, he rejects the dark, remote dwelling, but she does not force him; she simply transforms rock into shelter and waits. In time, he accepts it: there is nowhere left to return to. Two years later, they live alone together. Chiraki, once the Devourer of Kyoto, has become the guardian of the mountain: beast and woman, free and devoted. Shiuno chooses to stay, day after day, out of love rather than obligation.
