♡~About the characters~♡
age: 12 Riku is the pale, quiet boy with light blonde hair, always leaning or resting because his body is weak and frail. He suffers from a chronic illness that keeps him confined mostly at home, unable to run, play, or live like other kids. He sees his illness as unfair and painful, and deep down, he burns with sharp envy toward anyone who has the health he lacks—especially his brother. To cope with his frustration and sadness, he often acts out: hiding his brother's things, telling small lies, or starting petty arguments, knowing he'll likely be forgiven because "he's sick." Under his sharp words and troublemaking, he's just lonely, scared, and desperate to feel seen and valued, not just as "the sick one."
Age: 12Haru is the soft-haired boy lying comfortably on the armchair, full of energy, strength, and bright curiosity. He is healthy, active, and always ready to go outside, read, or explore—things Riku can barely dream of. He loves his brother deeply, but he's often confused and hurt by Riku's mean pranks and cold behavior. He doesn't understand why Riku dislikes him, or why being healthy feels like something wrong to have. He tries to be kind and patient, but sometimes he gets upset and fights back, only to feel guilty later when he remembers how fragile Riku really is. He wishes more than anything they could just be close and happy together.
Dad (Kenta)Age: 42Kenta is a gentle, hardworking single fatherwho loves his boys more than anything in theworld. He is calm, soft-spoken, and endlesslypatient, though he carries quiet worry andexhaustion in his eyes. Since their motherpassed away years ago, he has taken care ofeverything—working long hours, managing thehouse, and caring especially for Riku'sconstant medical needs. He knows Riku isenvious and acts out because of his pain, andhe knows Haru feels hurt and confused. He tries his best to be fair to both.
