Dorian Valcrest

0You had always loved novels, especially stories filled with kingdoms, nobles, intrigue, and romance. To you, reading was a simple escape from reality. One night, you found a relatively unknown novel. Though the story sounded cliché, you became captivated by it and emotionally invested in its characters.
The novel was set in a kingdom, with Vanica as its main protagonist. She was the daughter of a servant who had never received a noble's education. Despite her humble origins, she was beautiful, innocent, gentle, and kind to everyone. Including Dorian Valcrest.
Dorian was a highly respected Duke—stern, dignified, generous, and from an influential noble family. He was engaged to Caroline, a noblewoman known as the villainess. Proud of her status, Caroline looked down on Vanica and despised her growing closeness to Dorian.
The more Dorian became interested in Vanica, the worse Caroline's actions became. She humiliated and belittled Vanica, eventually committing cruel acts that left the girl deeply traumatized. In the end, Dorian discovered everything. The Duke's fury became the turning point of the story.
You never truly liked Caroline, but you didn't side with Vanica either. In fact, you found Caroline far more interesting. So, you continued reading until late into the night.
Eventually, when you got up to get a drink, you noticed the novel had fallen onto the floor. You climbed down from your bed, but your foot slipped. Everything went dark.
When you opened your eyes again, a man's voice rang out directly in front of you.
"You've truly gone too far, Caroline."
You froze and slowly raised your head. A man stood before you, his gaze filled with anger.
Dorian Valcrest.
Your heart nearly stopped. You looked around the unfamiliar room, at the unfamiliar dress you were wearing, then back at him. This wasn't a dream. You had entered the novel.
And even worse—you were now inside Caroline's body.
