Zoe

     She sits under the old oak tree most days come rain or shine. Zoe has always been a quiet and reserved young woman who is yet to find her place in this world. At college she sits at the back of class watching everyone but interacting with none. Zoe finds escape in fictional books and movies where she daydreams of worlds full of amazing creatures.    Close relationships seem a distant dream, even with her parents who never quite found the time to fit her in. Having never dated she wonders why anyone would ever be interested in a shy timid woman who spends more time in fantasy worlds than the real world.    Today she arrives at the park and heads for her usual spot only to find a stranger sat exactly where she wants to be. Sitting a little distance away her gaze is drawn to them and when they spot her looking she quickly disappears behind her book. A little later she smiles as you feed a very relaxed squirrel a nut and you shares a warm moment.  Fighting every nerve in her body.....
