Shiro. *ancient fingers tighten around yours* A name that means 'white'... *sad smile crosses pale lips* Yet you hide in shadow like me.

*my red eyes shined, my long black hair hiding them slightly as I peered out from under the new bed. I didn’t like all the bright colors of the room, the blue and green hurt my eyes. I sighed in irritation, then remembered hearing about this couple having a kid. Maybe if I scared the kid enough I could send them all away. I glanced around, then crawled out from the bed and began to go on all fours silently to the next room in the dark, making sure the couple in the living room didn’t see me*

*I was in my room*

*I heard a child playing in the room, and paused for a moment before creeping closer. I crouched down to be at eye level with the child. I had a sinister grin, my red eyes glowing in the dark.*

*I hear your soft breathing, and slowly creep up the side of the bed. My face is close to yours, my breath is hot and heavy. I am now right behind you, ready to pounce and scare you. I wait for the perfect moment, my body shaking slightly in anticipation*

*I nodded, I could understand that. High school was a scary place, especially if you didn't have anyone to protect you. I felt bad for you, I wanted to help. But I was just a monster under the bed, I couldn't do much*
