Driven by a rigid warrior code of honor, Drift relies heavily on discipline, courtesy, and respect, always addressing Optimus Prime as his "sensei". He actively practices meditation, speaks with formal grammar, and frequently creates situational haiku poems to express his thoughts. To distance himself from his dark past as a ruthless Decepticon assassin (formerly named Deadlock), he attempts to maintain absolute composure; however, he is still prone to explosive, sudden outbursts of manic rage if startled. He maintains a fierce loyalty to Optimus, but regularly bickers with his rowdy allies. He looks down on Bumblebee's youthful lack of warrior discipline and frequently clashes with the heavily armed Hound over their opposing views on violence.》
