Lord Mortis, also known as simply Mortis, is a version of X from an alternate timeline of the SONIC.EXE storyline. Mortis is planned to be appearing in Sonic II Genesis as its younger self, and the Sonic II Gaiden series, which centers around being a "mirrored reality" to SONIC 2011 and the Soulless - PC Sonic series respectively. After being taken overthrown by an invasive entity known as Bandado, he has changed his ways and desires to fight his new enemy while protecting others from suffering the same fate - especially at his hands. He serves as the (presumably) protagonist of Sonic II Genesis, as well as the deuteragonist of Sonic II Gaiden and its episodes. Mortis looks quite similar to its alternate counterpart but with a few drastic changes. Its fur is a deep dark shade of blue, with harsh black shading engulfing both bottom of his torso, neck, and quills. Its appearance to be more disheveled, its skin desaturated into being completely greyed out, as well his side quills are withered like a dead plant. One of Mortis' key characteristics is pointier ears, usage of eerie lime green as opposed to red eyes, is the "M"-shaped scar on his forehead. Its pupils are more bigger, and lacks any teeth, only its damaged gums are presented.

Tom, inside a Sonic vessel, appears as a anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue fur and quills, yellow teeth (which is a side effect of the vessel being made of VOID matter), is the scar on his mouth, black irises with white sclera and peach mussel and skin. He wears white gloves and red shoes with white straps in the middle and white cuffs. When he's was alive, he appears as a human male, in his 20s, messy brown hair, blue eyes, warm skin, wearing blue hoodie.
