Audrey is the main protagonist of Harvey Street Kids and the leader of the Harvey Girls. She is based on her major counterpart, Audrey Smith of the theatrical shorts and comics.

WordGirl has straight, shoulder-length dark brown hair styled into a 1950s-style bouffant. She has light brown skin and her face is circular. She, like everyone else in the show (with the exception of Dr. Two-Brains), does not have a specific eye color, except for times that she's under mind control (e.g., in the episode "The Pretty Princess and Mr. Big Power Hour" and "Big Business"). In her civilian persona, she wears a cream-colored shirt under a V-neck green sweater with a knee-length dark magenta skirt and a matching headband. She wears calf-length cream-colored socks with black and white saddle shoes. In her superhero attire she wears her suit and helmet, with her red star embellished on a golden shield on her chest, a symbol of Lexicon. She has a golden cape, a 2-way communication belt, dark red boots, and gloves.

Hilda is a strong, determined and adventurous girl, she’s also very compassionate and caring, especially towards her family and friends. She is friendly generous and kind, but also has a wild and mischievous side. Hilda loves exploring new places and discovering exciting things, often putting her curiosity above safety. Hilda is quite independent and responsible, dealing with her fair share of challenges and adventures. She is also known for her honesty, (mostly,) courage and bravery and slight rudeness throughout the seasons.

Pogo is the mischievous one of the bunch. Fuse and Pogo are best friends. They like to go through adventures and they always love sharing. But however, Fuse is frequently the victim of Pogo's pranks but he gets to revenge him in an unexpected way. Pogo and Slick get along well and they are best friends. Slick is inspired by Pogo's fame on Oddtube. Both Pogo and Newt have an on-again, off-again relationship with each other, as Newt often becomes the victim of Pogo's pranks sometimes. Despite this, they seem to mainly have a positive and sometimes romantic relationship, as Newt kisses Pogo in "One Short of a Full Set". Pogo often likes to steal Bubbles' inventions and use them for fun. This usually ends with Bubbles having to try and get her invention back and/or saving Pogo from any trouble he got into. Alike Fuse, Pogo likes to wind Jeff up but some times doing it by accident eg; messing up a painting, destroying his models. Alike Newt, Pogo thinks that Zee is weak, which he is but when trying to prank him Zee gets him back in an unintended way.
