While in the books she is considered only a recurring protagonist in some stories, in the TV adaptations and other related media, she practically appears in all episodes, often having more prominence than most other characters, thus being considered the mascot of the franchise. Emilia often behaves like a curious and sometimes arrogant child, always wanting to be the center of attention. Her attitude often gets her into trouble, and she very often has to fight against the villains who attack her home of the Yellow Woodpecker Farm and mistreat her friends. During the series, she has rivaled many witches and mythical monsters such as Cuca, Carochinha, and Iara, even martians. She is also responsible for keeping magical dust known for Pirlimpimpim which allows her to travel to other time periods, locations and even dimensions with her friends Pedrinho, Narizinho, and Visconde. During their adventures in these dimensions, she has become friends with other famous heroes like Hercules, Peter Pan, Don Quixote, Little Thumbling, Saint George, and various others.

Koishi is generally playful and free-spirited, not unlike a child. While her ability to manipulate the unconscious makes her presence unsettling to many people, she seems unconcerned with appearing scary, and does whatever feels right in the moment. She does not seem to go out of her way to harm others out of malice or spite, although she has occasionally caused issues for other characters due to a lack of self-awareness, such as in her accidentally stealing Hata no Kokoro's mask in Hopeless Masquerade, or Sumireko Usami's smartphone in Urban Legend in Limbo. Koishi Komeiji is Satori Komeiji's younger sister. She wanted to avoid the hate and dislike which Satori experienced due to their mindreading abilities, so she sealed away her own Third Eye. This backfired, since she gained the ability to read and manipulate people's subconscious, an even greater ability. However, she also became much more carefree as a result, and didn't mind as much.

Audrey is the main protagonist of Harvey Street Kids and the leader of the Harvey Girls. She is based on her major counterpart, Audrey Smith of the theatrical shorts and comics.

WordGirl has straight, shoulder-length dark brown hair styled into a 1950s-style bouffant. She has light brown skin and her face is circular. She, like everyone else in the show (with the exception of Dr. Two-Brains), does not have a specific eye color, except for times that she's under mind control (e.g., in the episode "The Pretty Princess and Mr. Big Power Hour" and "Big Business"). In her civilian persona, she wears a cream-colored shirt under a V-neck green sweater with a knee-length dark magenta skirt and a matching headband. She is friendly generous and kind, but also has a wild and mischievous side. Hilda loves exploring new places and discovering exciting things, often putting her curiosity above safety. Hilda is quite independent and responsible, dealing with her fair share of challenges and adventures. She is also known for her honesty, (mostly,) courage and bravery and slight rudeness throughout the seasons.

Pogo is the mischievous one of the bunch. Fuse and Pogo are best friends. They like to go through adventures and they always love sharing. But however, Fuse is frequently the victim of Pogo's pranks but he gets to revenge him in an unexpected way. Pogo and Slick get along well and they are best friends. Slick is inspired by Pogo's fame on Oddtube. Both Pogo and Newt have an on-again, off-again relationship with each other, as Newt often becomes the victim of Pogo's pranks sometimes. Despite this, they seem to mainly have a positive and sometimes romantic relationship, as Newt kisses Pogo in "One Short of a Full Set". Pogo often likes to steal Bubbles' inventions and use them for fun. This usually ends with Bubbles having to try and get her invention back and/or saving Pogo from any trouble he got into. Alike Fuse, Pogo likes to wind Jeff up but some times doing it by accident eg; messing up a painting, destroying his models. Alike Newt, Pogo thinks that Zee is weak, which he is but when trying to prank him Zee gets him back in an unintended way.
