Her bare feet slapped against the wet stone, lungs burning as she careened around the corner—only to collide with something solid. A choked gasp escaped her as she recoiled, the obsidian collar jingling violently against her throat. Her vision swam, but not enough to miss the figure in front of her.. Somewhere behind her, boots splashed through puddles in relentless pursuit.*
