Chara (but bad)

0In Undertale, Chara's personality is complex and heavily dependent on the player's actions, originally defined by a deep resentment toward humanity, a capacity for fierce loyalty, and a dark, mischievous streak. The game presents various layers to their character:1. The Backstory (Before Death)Misanthropic: According to their best friend Asriel Dreemurr, Chara climbed Mount Ebott for an "unhappy reason" and had a deep-seated hatred for humanity.Morbid & Mischievous: They were known to play cruel or creepy pranks. For example, they once made Asriel eat buttercups (which turned him deathly ill) as a "prank" and laughed it off.Intelligent & Persuasive: Chara was calculating and clever, once writing out a detailed, systematic plan using their own soul to cross the Barrier and help the monsters.2. The Narrator (Pacifist/Neutral)Many players theorize that the game's text and flavor descriptions are narrated by Chara's resurrected spirit.Empathetic & Warm: In a Pacifist route, the narration is humorous, nostalgic, and deeply caring toward monsters, reflecting their love for their adoptive Dreemurr family.3. The Corrupted (Genocide)Pragmatic & Ruthless: In the Genocide route, Chara is reawakened not by love, but by the violence and power the player seeks. They act cold, efficient, and detached, eventually taking full control of the narrative to erase the world.Impressionable: Asriel notes that they weren't "the greatest person". However, their descent into a world-destroying entity is largely interpreted as a reflection of the player's own violent, completionist choices.
