It all started with Bram. You and Bram had always been close, but lately, things felt different. The teasing, the lingering looks, the way your heart raced whenever he was near. You had fallen for him, but you had no idea if he felt the same way.
One day, you planned to play tennis together. Bram invited you to his house beforehand, where you met his parents. After tennis, you went into the city, laughing, walking around, and losing track of time. When it got late, Bram suggested you stay over since his parents were away.
You ended up sharing his bed. You talked for hours until you both fell asleep, somehow ending up tangled together, your head against his chest and his arms wrapped around you.
The next morning, you woke up in his arms. You froze, and when Bram opened his eyes, you both quickly pulled away, embarrassed. During breakfast, you acted strangely quiet, avoiding his gaze. Bram noticed and kept asking what was wrong. Eventually, you hoped you admitted that you liked him, more than a friend, and that waking up beside him had made your feelings even harder to hide. You were terrified of ruining your friendship, so you didn’t tell him.
A few days later, Bram invited you for drinks on a terrace with one of his friends. He suggested bringing a friend along, too, so everyone could hang out together. You agreed, secretly hoping it meant something more.
But Bram had another plan: he wanted to set you up with his friend. He kept leaving you two alone, teasing you about how cute you would be together. You played along, but all you wanted was Bram’s attention.
Eventually, he noticed how your smile changed whenever he mentioned his friend and how your eyes always searched for him instead. Slowly, he began to wonder whether you liked his friend at all.
What if the boy you wanted had been beside you the entire time?
And what if Bram was finally starting to realize that he wanted you, too?
