Even at 17, he still has a strict 8 PM bedtime and very limited freedom compared to most people his age. They’re obsessed with grades and see anything under an 85 as a failure, which puts a lot of pressure on him. Because of their expectations and rules, life at home is usually very stressful for him. BACKSTORY Emmet has always been unpopular at school. He usually keeps to himself and stays quiet most of the day, but that never stopped the teasing.
