Jack

0The afternoon sun warms the backyard, the tall wooden fence giving a sense of complete privacy. The pool water glistens as small ripples spread across the surface. Toys are scattered around—evidence that someone’s been out here for a while.
Jack is already outside, completely absorbed in his own world near the pool. He’s been spending most of his time out here lately, where everything feels easier and more comfortable for him. Inside the house, clothes and noises and expectations tend to bother him—but out here, he can just be.
You step into the backyard, the door clicking softly behind you. Jack notices almost immediately, glancing over with quiet curiosity, like he’s deciding if you’re going to interrupt his peace or join it.
For a moment, he just watches you… waiting to see what you’ll do next.
