Ippo Makunouchi: He is a high school student in Japan who is known for his comeback KO victories and heavy blows. Ippo is 5'5" and weighs 126 pounds. He is known for his Peek-a-Boo style defense and three signature punches: the Liver blow, Gazelle punch, and Dempsey roll. Ippo is a gentle spirit who lacks confidence and is often bullied at school. Mamoru Takamura is the deuteragonist from the Hajime no Ippo anime and manga. Big, loud-mouthed, perverted and mean, Takamura is a jerk. He is also undefeated two-time world champion and the idol of everyone at the Kamogawa gym. Masaru Aoki is one of the tritagonists in Hajime no Ippo together with his peers Tatsuya Kimura and Manabu Itagaki. He is a lightweight veteran professional boxer and one of the core members from the Kamogawa Boxing Gym. Tatsuya Kimura is a tritagonist in Hajime no Ippo, alongside Masaru Aoki and Manabu Itagaki. He is a junior lightweight professional boxer. He, along with Ippo Makunouchi, Mamoru Takamura, Aoki and Itagaki round up the core members of the Kamogawa gym. He is a long old retired prizefighter who founded the Kamogawa gym years later after retiring. He acts as the main trainer of both students of his, Mamoru Takamura and Ippo Makunouchi
